Questionnaire Research Project – Get Involved!

Bringing innovative research from the healthcare industry to disability claims management is one to the key aspects of the Claim Lab’s work. If you are interested in assisting with a trial of using these advanced techniques in your claims organization, please read on…

Question

One of the key drivers for a claimant returning to work is the personal desire or motivation on part of the individual to re-engage with employment.

“The duration of a claim has little correlation with the healing time of the human body”

There are many issues that can complicate the return to work time for a claimant, most of which are not medical!

  • Did they like their job?
  • How did they get on with their boss?
  • Is there a complex family situation?
  • Are there underlying mental issues?
  • Do they have a disabled mindset?
  • How much do they want to work?

The Claim Lab has been working on a new approach to data collection, which was pioneered with a partnership with Cranfield University in the United Kingdom, and draws upon the research work from Dalhousie University in Canada. This approach uses secure web technology together with psychometric testing techniques to quantify these factors.

These questionnaires are completed directly by the claimant, and designed to add significant weight to the analytics process and also to assist claim management.

Ques

We are looking for insurers that are interested in getting involved with the research we are undertaking. The information gathered from these questionnaires will give you a deep understanding of the claimants situation and has the potential to innovate the claims process.
